Indeed the job of the press is to report verified informations. But, as a matter of fact, we all know that, especially in this kind of situation, the more things they have to say the better for them. Providing false, biaised, not verified, sensitive informations is not important to them in term of consequences. I read earlier in this thread that some press "agency" said the identity of the shooter was known: it is not.

Short parallel with the tragic accident that happened last week with the children from Belgium, it has been reported by some people that some journalists went very far and ignored the most basic decency in order to collect scoops and informations (names, age, descriptions, etc...).

Releasing a torrent of verified and unverified, genuine and false informations is very dangerous; making the police job harder, the criminal behavior more unpredictable and also creating unnecessary tension/anxiety/psychose among the population.
What I mean is that there is already enough tension/anxiety/fear/... after what happened, for the public to know the modus operandi of the criminal won't improve the situation.

But, there is the famous "right to inform", even if it means flushing loads of BS down into the people ears.

That would be true if she were a foreign minister. However she's just the representative for foreign affairs of the EU, which is a largely unimportant post, which is exactly why she got the job and not anyone actually competent or carrying political weight and influence.

Well. Let me say that it reflects very bad in the EU, if that matters to Europeans.
    What bothers more is this:
    http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums...quot-for-talks

Tehran made the offer in a letter to the EU's foreign policy chief obtained by ******* Thursday, a day after it trumpeted several advances in nuclear know-how and sent oil prices upward.
Iran's president vowed no retreat from its nuclear program Wednesday but state television announced the proposal to re-launch talks after a year's hiatus.
I am worried she is more than a figurine or oif you are right, she is a figurine with power.........pretty dangerous.

Argentina is not immune to that, but we eat politicians.

Instead of downplaying the situation, why you dont start thinking about why some things are not as cool as should in the morally gifted continent?

Reflexion is a great thing. The fact that She said what she said is terrible, Period.

According to some media, French army will help reinforce police patrols and secure sensitive area (in Montauban at least) ... no Posse Comitatus in France...

The 3 "neonazi" paratroopers who had been discharged a year ago are not involved, police says

There has been a lot of spin in several foreign and French newspapers about those three, so now we know

please stop with your indignation, Argentina is no better than anybody else regarding anti-semitism, probably somewhat worse

"For the largest Jewish community in Latin America, peace has often been hard to come by: Argentina has a long, dark history as a haven for anti-Semites and Nazis.
Even today, the number of spray-painted swastikas on the streets of Buenos Aires hints at the persistent anti-Semitism below Argentina's politically correct veneer. The graffiti, together with Argentina's history of serving as a refuge for Nazis and anti-Semites, might suggest a strong Argentine neo-Nazi movement."

    this links are recent

just Google "anti-semitism Argentina" and put that in relation to Ashtons poorly formulated rant
