Go figure its died down in the media
It is a mess. The media did not do the Martins or Zimmermans any favors.
That reenactment helped shed more light on the incident. Puts a new perspective on things especially when the media really manipulated people with those first photos, 911 call among others. Then again, it is also, just his version, as he is the only one alive from that incident. It is a mess.
One person is conveniently dead and the shooter gets to tell the what happened. Doesn't augur well for the former since the dead do not speak or do reenactment for that matter.
I don't know what to think anymore about this case. All I know is I'm glad I don't have to be on the jury, cause it would be a tough decision to make...
I think that a lot of people have made up their mind on this case. If it goes their, no problem. If it does not go their way........ Could be a mess. The media and politicians killed the truth of this case long ago. In a way, two people died that night. Martin and Zimmerman.
I believe his story. He reminds me of one of those overzealous neighborhood watch people who calls on the cops on everyone and nobody really likes. I've lived next to 'em. Seems like Zimmerman should have just minded his business, but I can totally empathize with wanting to watch out for your neighbors and their property when they're gone. I think he just over did it and put himself in a really awful situation. Seems like Martin overreacted to being followed and that's why he's dead.
Pretty sad if that's how it went down.
edit: The bit where he says the dispatcher tells him he needs to be able to see Martin and all that is believable IMO. I've come across somebody who broke into my friend's house once and called 911. The guy saw me and took off on his bike through a catwalk in between houses and I told the dispatcher that and they're like "well if you can't see him now, we can't do anything". It was pretty irritating.
At least you actually saw someone committing a crime, you didn't just profile someone you saw outside. IMO, the primary reason the kid died is that, he was profiled and followed by an armed man who did so against the wishes of the police. The domino fell from there. At least, that much we know is true.
Unless you see a crime committed or somebody doing something really suspicious, you should just mind your own business. I live on a dead end street and I see tweakers scoping out houses all the time to burglarize. The best thing you can do is just go outside and stand with your arms crossed and let them know that you know exactly what they're doing.
If you had bothered to watch the video, you would know that Zimmerman *did not* follow Trayvon after the police told him 'we do not need you to do that'. You saying that Zimmerman "profiled him" is a baseless conclusion you have jumped to, not a fact. Your entire post reeks of extreme bias.
