@GB_FXST : Hum... The CFCM site is strangely not indicating anything about Toulouse... I'm currently looking for sources of what I heard. A representative of the Council has condemned the attacks in strong terms, according to a banner on the I-Télé news channel. Looking for sources.

On the minute-by-minute module of Lemonde.fr, one can ask questions to a moderator/journalist, I'll ask if they have something about it. If there's nothing, well, that'd be disturbing.

Excellent work on the part of the French Authorities. Job well done.

I fear violences between both communauties. Happened in the past.
I saw the heads of both organizations in a press conference togrther this morning. Both condemned the extremist, said his ideas do not represent Islam, warned of amalgams. preached tolerance... There was no tension at all between them.

GB_FXST, you're welcome, but we can both thank Mat_fr, the link he provided mentions a joint condamnation of his crimes.

While talking about it with colleagues, some mentionned the march could be cancelled as to avoid risks of unrest. Some muslims might react negatively to other muslims walking hand in hand with jews, creating a security risk. But that's just us people talking about the subject...

In essence, representatives of both communities have issued a joint statement this morning, leaving the Elysée, refusing the confusion between terrorism and religion, stating that any attempts to divide the national community will fail because beyond the slaughter in Toulouse and the assasination of soldiers "of foreign origin", it was France that was targeted.

The representatives of the Muslim community have denounced in strong terms the attack stating that nothing could ever justified this and that the author was a criminal and must be treated as such.

Following this statement, they said together the march was canceled.

They shouldn't have cancelled this march.

However never heard of the reason, particularly the one you mention TG211.

Perhaps you know whether or not the CFCM has taken an official, public stance on the victims and accused?

If the CFCM has issued a solid unequivocal statement condemning this act of violence by a Islamist/Jihadist, then maybe a joint public display of solidarity is yet appropriate. But, if the CFCM is not standing in solidarity with the Jewish community at this time of crisis, what would be the purpose of a solidarity march?
The head of the CFCM condemned firmly the terrorist before and after it was revealed he is jihadist.

Google translate has been spinning for the past 5 minutes; I assume that ArcDeus has provided a summary, correct?

Am I understanding correctly that the march was jointly cancelled?

@ArcDeus and @Mat_fr, thank you both for your posts.

This guy is a hardcore Muj. He should never have been walking the streets in France in the first place.
