i did some research and saw the 249 spw version its similar to the mk-46 and does not have the mag well, looks like a good design

Can't you modify M 249s Mk-46? I thought one was a development of the other. Why is it the M 249 not good enough? Are the weapons to woren out?

I know most of the M249s are rebuilds in my units arms room. Brand new barrels, heat shields, lower ras, gas regulator, feed tray cover, and collapsible but stock, but the rest is are original build parts.
