This is because so many are so conflicted about it - in the end you have national healthcare by making everyone buy insurance, providing everyone with insurance, or (currently) treating a section of the population for free when their health issues become life threatening.

Too many Christians here to just let the folk w/o healthcare die when we have the means to save them.

Mandatory auto insurance for auto owners comes from the states and not the federal government. Big difference.

It is not nationalized auto insurance also a very different form of insurance. It is liability insurance that is required, if you hit someone else. If you barrow money to buy a car, then the lender requires that you have liability insurance to protect their investment. Also one does not need a car, a license is not a right.

HarryC, I really don't why you drag religion into this. 2 Billion Christians in the world, I don't believe there is only one view about insurance among all of them.

The only thing this statement exposes is your own anti-Xn bigotry.

Are people suggesting that we just let those who didn't buy insurance die ?
Don't think that would go over too well.

I know the Catholic Church would probably not be pleased.

The only point needed to be made in this augment is the US Government does not have the right or should have the power to force citizens to purchase anything.
    It is called Freedom.
I don't need anyone telling me what is good or bad for me.
It is called being a responsible adult.
    Nuff said...

I guess I need to start infracting people on this.

    5. Don't use racism in any form including derogatory statements about the Islamic faith or any other faith. Likewise extended religious ranting will see you booted out the door.
Before one gets this knickers are twisted up on this, I would suggest finding out that happened to Karen C with her extended religious rantings. It cut both ways. If you can not handle religious people, STFU, if you can not handle non-religious people STFU. I have no problem banning bigots from this forum. You can go to a pro-bigot forum and bloviate there.

Actually, they do not disagree with all of it, the disagree with what they feel is morally wrong. The Catholic Church is one of the largest non-profit aid for poor people in the states. They are opposed to abortions. They are not opposed to the 1,000s of other medical procedures.

Pardon me ? I consider this to be a positive comment regarding Christians as a whole. And admirable trait.

Not a problem. It is something I have been meaning to say for some times.
