Especially that both L44 and L55 are looking just the same as M256/Rh-120/L55 and Rh-120/L55 respectively.

I suspect that or You read some wrongly informed source, or You misunderstood something.
I'm based on official source not speculation like you.

according to National Defense Journal April 2007 volume, after we developed 120/L55 gun for K2 MBT, we also developed 120/L44 gun for K1A1. after 10Xth K1A1, she got locally developed 120/L44 gun. so around 380 K1A1 got locally developed 120/L44 gun now.

It looks exactly the same as Rh-120/M256 family, with minor changes to fit in to K1A1 and K2 turrets. Someone definetly confused some things here. It's just adaptation of German gun, some design features as I said were probably changed so the gun can fit in to turret + possible change in materials used to build it. But all in all it is the same basic German design.

I respect your knowledge concerning MBT, but don't tell me you know better about K1A1 or K2 MBT than me. can you read S. Korean defense magazines or ROK DoD's publications?

But these guns are clearly based on basic Rhinemetall design, just compare photos of guns only, installed on tanks and presented on different exhibitions.

Someone may said that it is own development because of many reasons (politics prestige etc.) but there is also common sense.

Goes to show that a good design will go a long way ..
L44/L55 with MTU Diesels coupled to Renk transmissions are now the backbone for quite a few MBTs

I believe what nooobs said to be true, South Korea has sold it's 120mm L/55 cannon design to Turkey for upcoming Altay MBT. Rhinemetall aren't involved.
