I`m not at all praying for the fall of the Hashemite monarchy (it's not up to Israel if this happens eventually).

Yet still I believe that such an occurance could have a positive outcome in the long term.

So much for your self imposed moratirium on trolling, huh?

If so, let me ask you again, where is your outrage that Jordan has engaged in mass-disenfranchisment (ethic cleansing by any other name)?

    These are the concessions.
It's not a concession if Israel retains arbitrary military authority over the West Bank.

I'm not advocating military authority but security arrangements.

A real concession and compromise is when both sides are not happy with the final outcome.

Both sides assume they have leverage therefore not willing to move ahead.

You can't expect us to leave without serious guarantees(not international forces that will be there).

Are you talking about the military aid? I'm talking about guatantees that will make sure that the Arabs will not attack us.

The West Bank is not the Sinai Peninsula... and if you still wish to draw a comparison then consider the fact that the Sinai was demilitarized as part of the accords.

Why should Israel be happy to give up the WB?

Irrelevant to an eventual agreement with the Palestinians.

I think Israel should protect the Hashemites when it comes down to it. There's no way one should prefer a (probably militant) Palestinian neighbor on most of the eastern border. Israel flew over the Syrian army when the Syrians tried to come to PLO's aid. What do you think a Palestinian-dominated government in Jordan would look like? A dangerous cocktail of Islamists and Palestinian nationalists most likely. I believe the Hashemites and the Israelis need each other.
