I "like" how the German media (at least the radionetwork I listened to today) puts the blame solely on Pro-NRW; even the fact that Salafists stabbed the two officers. The ignorance and nativity in Germany regarding the Salafists is mind-boggling.

As I understood the discussion in the police forum, the NRW police isn't capable of handling large scale violence.
The most common "Großlage" for NRW police are football matches, as nearly half of all Bundesliga clubs are in NRW.
And while individual hooligans are violent, this is a different caliber than the political riots Berlin or Hamburg or the Federal Police has experience with.
The expertise in cracking heads that was amassed in Kreuzberg or Rote Flora isn't there in NRW, so to speak.

From the footage I have seen it seems that the NRW riot police behaved without much of a tactic in this situation. Just standing back watching the mob do their thing, no fast moving units with them, basically just being passive. They must have expected a peaceful demonstration. After the first demonstration escalated they didn't think of bringing a BFE/TEE or SEK with them ?

I have the feeling in alot of other states this level of escalation wouldn't have happened, and especially after the first wave of violence the salafist "demonstration" should have been ended by force.

And after this kind of violence I hope the state/courts do not hand out allowances for gatherings like candy for these assholes anymore.

Let's hope that the interior ministers ball up and disband this whole anti-democratic, terrorism supporting, violent group alltogether.

EDIT: Just saw NRW interior minister Ralf Jäger in a interview - What a stupid moron that guy is, typical politican without a backbone. Ofcourse he is acting now like Pro-NRW is the problem and wants to ban mohammed cartoons, not saying much about knife-wielding violent salafists...
How about banning synagoges next so you don't provocate neo-nazis ?

What i would like to know is what kind of horrible anti-islamist pictures Pro-NRW showed that were responsible for stirring the shyte according to Jäger. What i have seen on youtube till now were only those prohibition signs combined with the silhouette of a mosque and the famous bomb-in-mohameds-turban picture by Westergaard. Afaik the courts did not have any problems with such signs till yet.
