i always wondered what this spotting rifle is used for,
can someone explain this to me, i couldnt find any info on this...

i always thought, that the rocket follows the tracerbullet into target..

the spotting rounds have the same ballistic as the rocket, so it is used to find out the angle in which you have to shoot at the target

i hope this is clear enough...

on wikipedia, you can also find a discription

Weird video, why aren't they firing with their rifles as well ? just standing there watching ? focusing on making good shots (with the cameras) ?

The guys in that compound were pinned down by another squad moving on the other side. BDA showed 2 Taliban KIA from these rockets.
