^^^Cool pics. Had that Chinook not ended up a museum piece, the Marines would probably still be flying it.

QFT.............. also the Marine Pilot who lost the Commandant's chopper probably ended up walking with the grunts for the rest of his career.

I'm actually surprised, now that we are "friendly" with the 'Nam, the Marines haven't gone over and asked if they can have it back.

"The Pentagon swears they'll give us a few bucks to upgrade, but until then, could we borrow this back for a year or so?"

You guys make it sounds like the Marine Corps is without money totally. The Marine Corps has a three times larger budget then our entire Military. Stop bitching

Edit: it's actually 5 times more. So you guys really need to stop complaining.
    Awsome videos BTW

After meeting US Marines on over 10 different occasions, I can vouch for that

USMC never had the CH-47 Chinook, it's an Army Bird. Marines had the CH-46

That maybe now but was not that way back then. We had to steal from the Army and even used captured equipment.

I was going to make a funny joke about the Huey, but then realized LD would say something about the US Air Force markings and kill it. (I kid 'cause I love LD).

But so cool to see those pics. Thanks, Fallap.

Getting back on topic, and thanks Fallap for those other photos, very interesting...

The Marines at Khe Sanh got everything the needed, right?
