Happens more than often with Lambos. There's a whole website from a former Lambo-Owner, who's collecting data from accidents/fires caused by defects.

The engines are over-over-over-kills that over-over-over-heat.
    What do you expect?

apparently some ppl aren't taxed enough, being able to buy a POS lambo

at least my sedan doesn't spontaneously combust and commit car-suicide

and it didn't cost over $300k

you'd think lambo would know how to build an engine....

I prefer Ferrari, but satin black really suits that car. Reminiscent of a stealth fighter.

    700hp out of a 6.5 litre V12 isn't a overkill.

No one knows the reason for the fire, so let's keep calm on the speculation.

Ofcourse the "OMFG I AM A retardo that never drove a car with more than 300hp but lambo sux so much italian cars always on fire hahaha mato"-crowd are wanking their little cocks all over the net because all they ever will experience is the acceleration of a Corolla.

I know a fella with a late model Lambo....sweet car.....but the service and repair costs are simply insane....and while the fit/finish is quite good.....I found the build quality/reliability to be a bit disappointing in this example.

458 is more comparable to a Gallardo then the Aventador

There is a big difference between the latest models.

The Murcielago is the last model that was pretty much only designed and engineered really by Lamborghini themselvs, and it did have alot of birth defects and logical flaws. (position of the steering wheel would be a good example for horrible engeneering)

Same goes for the first wave of Gallardos, that are simply horrible by today standards. But that changed with the first minor "facelift" which lifted the power from 500 to 520hp and improved alot. That is also why you usually get those earlier Gallardos for really cheap money.

From the time when VW/Audi took over Lamborghini and "outsourced" the major part of engeneering to their own departments the quality drastically improved. And you certainly don't witness the build quality of Diablos and the likes of old models where they apparently sometimes just went "oh man this thing here is loose, lets put some more screws into that and see what it does" anymore.

Lamborghini has been given a incredible boost from near/certain death and being a little whore company that was passed around to once again becoming a serious player in it's market share. But that was only possible because Audi radically replaced all old structures in the company and replaced them with their own while investing alot of money and knowledge into them.
