Default Parent wire kid to prove teachers' verbal abuse

Teachers hurled insults like "bastard," ''tard," ''damn dumb" and "a hippo in a ballerina suit." A bus driver threatened to slap one child, while a bus monitor told another, "Shut up, you little dog." They were all special needs students, and their parents all learned about the verbal abuse the same way — by planting audio recorders on them before sending them off to school.

For the preponderance of really good and dedicated teachers, those bullies or piss poor teachers need to go. To many people will paint a whole group because of the actions of few in that group.

What kind people think it's okay to pick on a child, especially an autistic or mentally handicapped child? It just makes me sick.

My best teachers were the ones that would call us "tw@t" or "fvcking retard" and throw board pens at us when we deserved it. We weren't special needs students though and they weren't just picking on us for the sake of it. They were actually very dedicated, knowledgable teachers.

Sounds like the ones involved in this case need some disciplinary action/to be dismissed for misconduct.

When you're in high school or something, I can agree with that.

In this case, I think the teachers involved need to be brought up on child abuse charges. This kind of crap is just inexcusable. My dad's a special education teacher. He'd be furious if he saw this sh!t.

    Pretty much what you said.

While what happened to his son was wrong, I have issues with people trying to go about fixing certain issues via youtube. There are other means to take care of problems and bring attention to issues. I guess that's what society has become these days - addressing problems by trying to go viral to raise attention/issues.

Funny you mentioned this. All my best teachers were straight talkers like this or made you listen by using harsh words or unconventional actions

My teachers used to throw feces at us. Nope, just kidding. I had a history teacher once, a middle aged lady, throw the weirdest menopause induced tantrum, she's started yelling at this girl, and then storms out of the classroom.

Definitely always loved a good teacher who wasn't afraid to dish some justified verbal abuse. Unfortunately there really are some utter pricks out there who get off on bullying and intimidating their students. My year 5 form tutor was one of them. He never have got away with some of the crap he used to pull if the kids had been even a couple of years older.

I always feel sorry for mentally challenged and autistic kids, because I know that most of them will never have the chance to live a normal life. When you think about it, it's really depressing. They've been dealt a bad hand in life, and there's very little to nothing they can do about it. To know that someone who is supposed to be understanding and compassionate towards them is treating them like this... it's disgusting. Especially seeing as how these kids are really young.

Maybe I missed it, but when did she called him "tard", "damn dumb" or "a hippo in a ballerina suit"?

Should be between the parents and the school, not the parents, the school and youtube.

Maybe. Who knows? They'd have been better taking it proper media in that case, more exposure etc.

Maybe local media didn't care? No way to know. Still, I think it's better that he spread word about this, so that if this is happening to other kids that have this disability, parents and others who can help them will be more aware.
Because of their condition, a lot of kids with mental disorders have trouble though out life, especially in teenage years, because they aren't really accepted by others and face a lot of social and physical challenges. Many suffer depression and some commit suicide. A kid on my track team has is autistic and suffers from depression because of the way others treat him. It really sucks to see.
By spreading the word, maybe us and others can help them out more, and be more understanding of them.

    That'll take more than this.
