Being a full functioning autistic person myself, I can't belive that this $hit happens today. Despite being found in the 1940's in Europe, it was never recognized in the States until the 80's. Being that I was born in 86 and was diagnosed as severly autistic two yeas later, my parents had a rough time trying to make sure that I had a bright future ahead of me. Luckily, this person who knew alot about autism helped my family out by showing them various things that they could take advantage of. If was wern't for that great person who didn't forsake me like other normal people would, I wouldn't be typing this in the first place. Then there was the case where the school district I was going to tried to put me in special education in high school, but my parents threatened a lawsuit so the school backed out. I proved the school wrong and with help from an aid, I managed to become the first autistic person to graduate from my school district. It's not easy being autistic; that I can tell you. To see this stuff of degrading and treating autistic people like this makes me upset. They may have speech problems, they may act different, yes. However this doesn't mean you can bully them and do whatever you pleas with them.
