Default George Galloway converted to Islam 10 years ago?

http://www.newstatesman.com/blogs/po...n-islam-muslim

George Galloway, MP for Bradford West, is a Muslim. He converted more than ten years ago in a ceremony at a hotel in Kilburn, north-west London, attended by members of the Muslim Association of Great Britain. Those close to him know this. The rest of the world, including his Muslim constituents, does not.

Galloway may have successfully out-Muslimed Labour’s Muslim British-Pakistani candidate, Imran Hussain, during the election campaign, with his speeches full of “inshallahs”, his invocations of the Quran – “the people who invaded and destroyed Iraq . . . will burn in the hell-fires of Hell” – and his smattering of Arabic words: “We stand for justice and haq [truth].” Pamphlets were distributed declaring: “God knows who is a Muslim and he knows who is not. Instinctively, so do you . . . I, George Galloway, do not drink alcohol and never have.” (Galloway has denied he was responsible for these.)

There must have been some white constituents in Bradford, who, although natural Labour supporters, preferred to vote for the white Catholic candidate rather than the brown Muslim one representing Labour. Meanwhile, his Muslim constituents delighted in the hints – “a Muslim is somebody who is not afraid of earthly power but who fears only the Judgement Day. I’m ready for that, I’m working for that and it’s the only thing I fear.” Many favoured a possible or a potential Muslim over a “lapsed” one, such as Labour’s Hussain, who, Galloway claimed in his campaign, was “never out of the pub”.
Oddly, in 2006 he said:

Yes, I believe in the Resurrection. I believe God restored the life of Jesus of Nazareth and took him to his bosom. The example of suffering and sacrifice followed by vindication is central to my religious belief.

Why is that odd? I am no scholar of the Koran but is Jesus not a prophet of Islam and therefore isn't the story of the resurrection relevant to the practice of Islam?

No, I believe it is Sura Al Nesa. Jesus was never killed.

I looked it up, Surah 4:157-158

George Galloway isn't a Muslim convert. He couldn't be converted away from his George Galloway-ism for all the cash in Mecca. He just loves himself too much.

Hollis was right. Jesus (Isa Alaihissalam) never died. He ascended and will come back before the Apocalypse to destroy the Dajjal.

[*******#333333]"Yes, I believe in the Resurrection. I believe God restored the life of Jesus of Nazareth and took him to his bosom. The example of suffering and sacrifice followed by vindication is central to my religious belief."

If that statement is from him then he is probably a Christian.

All of his idols from Saddam Hussein to Gadaffi to Assad were Muslims. Makes sense.

I don't know about that, Saddam was a Ba'athist (socialist) when he was getting his support from the Soviets. With the Soviet Union disappeared and he was in deep trouble, he became a Muslims to get support of the Islamic Community. I think Guack Duffy was playing the same game. It probably just shows, politicians are game players as a group. The more power/money they more they will play. Religion is just a handy tool in the game of control.

He has something to say about the whole thing in the Guardian http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2...?newsfeed=true
[*******#333333]In a statement entitled "The Staggers has fallen on its face", Galloway responded to the New Statesman[*******#333333] piece by saying: "The opening paragraph of Jemima Khan's piece in the New Statesman [referring to an alleged conversion ceremony] is totally untrue. Moreover, I told her it was fallacious when she put it to me. I have never attended any such ceremony in Kilburn, Karachi or Kathmandu. It is simply and categorically untrue."
Apart from deep worship of self I thought George was a reconfirmed Catholic. You never know what religious path people have chosen in life, a family friend of ours passed away and although she attended Episcopalian services a Rabbi turned up to say a few prayers at the funeral!

Everyone who hasn't seen "Undercover Mosque" should. I have a feeling America will see an influx of English passports in the next 20 years.

I'm not an alarmist, but the liberal desire not to infringe on hostile cultures will come back to hurt in a big way.
