Well, those were still the days, when european leaders were happy to be kissing and hugging their good old friend Gaddafi. With friends like that, the poor fellow had no need for enemies.
Fake pics? It was a relatively funny photo-shop related to the deportation policy Sarkozy installed. He never said that was the evidence. There is a long tradition of French Presidential candidates taking money from less than recommendable people around the world. It was the cause of an electoral reform in the late 80's that forbade private funding for political campaigns. This being true or not, Sarkozy has enough issues with his Pakistani file that Gadhaffi being a sponsor or not should not even be THAT problematic. But wouldn't that be poetic karma.
