Default Sounds like some people are working hard to derail the upcoming US-PRC talks...

One internationally irrelevant blind guy "escapes" somehow into the US Embassy - US considering selling F-16 to Taiwan... it is like the Chinese hardliners and certain folks in the US gov are coordinating things to **** up the talks over issues that actually matter.

Um yah because in the history of diplomacy and US State Department's existence - we have been so effective at getting other people's governments to treat their own people better Such a priority to make sure everyone adheres to our standards in their domestic politics.

Taiwan is an issue best left alone - everyone is happy with the status quo except the hardliners in the PRC, the hardliners in the ROC, and a few "FREEDOM" morons too old to get in uniform and "missed" Vietnam so they live vicariously through the youngins they want to commit to other people's fights.

It has not been a good year for the CCP.
Slowing economy, aging population, the Wukan Village Uprising, the Bo Xilai scandal and the infighting it caused and the change of command for later this year.

On the otherhand, the United States is tied with China on common issues such as North Korean Nukes, Iranian Nukes, trade and investments.

I would not say things are intentionally sabotaged. Both the CCP and US can do without the drama and public scrutinty. However there is growing pressure from constituents from both sides vis a vis with PRC-US relations.
