Yes my Team trialed one looking to use it for covert/close protection work. We all had a go on the range deploying an MP5 from it.
Ive got to be honest we were less than impressed with the results. I found it quite a bind to deploy the weapon, the muzzle kept catching and didnt seem to clear to inside of the bag easily or cleanly. We didnt buy it. Though I did actually quite like the attached pouch which could be used separately to carry a Glock or pistol of your choice.
    Hope this helps.

Looks incredibly bulky, and slow I've used a the variety of DeSantis rigs for the last 20 years (with a Vest, or Jacket) and they've held up very well.

Yep,it was slow and fiddly too. I usually love 5.11 stuff and find it well made and well thought out but I just couldnt get on with this. We did but the Covert M4 cases for our 416s though. Good kit.

Thanks for the info. I was apprehensive about using it because of the size. I think I will pass on it and look for something else.

No. When I worked in Afghanistan I had no reason to conceal my weapons. At home, I just carry a handgun in my waist band.

It really seems like a solution in search of a problem. If you are a PSD guy in a location where you'd feel the need to conceal an SMG, you'll probably be fine with just a handgun under your shirt. If, on the other hand, you feel the need to have an SMG or a short rifle, why bother concealing it in the first place? Making you or your client an obvious hard target is much better than being low profile and reacting after something has happened.

James, sounds more like for some civilian non-uniform agency department. I have been looking at a bike pack for conceal pistol carry. I met a gal who is a prison guard who had one. It worked really well for here. Problem I am not a pack/purse carrier. I like my fanny pack for several reasons, even if I am not carrying.

Working u/c in civvies in a high threat environment we used MP5Ks and later PDWs. Guys tended to strap them into a modified messenger bag with an open end that you could stick your hand into to grab the pitsol grip. That gave you an extra 30 rounds on top of your car/waistband pistol to GTF out of Dodge. I can therefore (sort of) see the point, but anyone working u/c will avoid obvious 'tac gear' like the plague because it marks you out as what you are.

Only ever used one on the range once. It was easy enough, but a real pray and spray job - at least with the method I described you could use a normal stance and had a tiny bit of control over where the muzzle pointed.

I thought they (the briefcase) were a pretend 'Hollywood' concept. I've been educated!

So good for concealment (it looks natural enough, though I don't know how many use briefcases still these days) but not much else you'd say?

Not much good for concealment, becuase the number of nasty looking plastic briefcases I see in the city of London (or even expensive leather ones) these days could be counted on the fingers of one badly maimed hand - so the number around anywhere else must be miniscule. And as you say, but not much use for anything else.
