That's not really the same thing and you know it, but again, this thread is for football not politics.

Euro 2012 proves a treat, on and off the pitch

The conclusion of Euro 2012 was marked by Spain's magnificent victory against Italy and a noisy party that was still in full swing as dawn broke behind the vast bowl of Kiev's Olympic Stadium.

And after a tournament that started amid fears of hooliganism and racism, both Ukraine and Poland had every right to celebrate an event that did both countries great credit.

Logistical problems and prohibitive travel prices meant empty seats at many games - including the final that brought Spain's 4-0 masterclass. This was a real shame as every unoccupied yellow and blue seat at that final represented a missed opportunity to witness something special.

This was, however, a wonderfully enjoyable tournament, on and off the pitch. From the searing heat of Donetsk's Donbass Arena, through Warsaw and on to exciting, edgy Kiev for the final, the people of Poland and Ukraine were friendly, welcoming and unfailingly polite and helpful.

Overall it was a pretty good tournament.
Not too many cards, hardly a horrible foul, decent refereeing (excluding a few fuck-ups here and there), great atmospheres, surprises and up-sets.
Some of the more hyped games were on the boring side of things, but plenty of nice actions to remember and appreciate.

The final was fantastic, great football on display, very enjoyable - you can't ask for too much more in that regard.

I already said, it is just my personal opinion. No-one has to agree with it.
I had no idea people like you would get so butthurt over it.

    Geez. Get over it.
Spain is the World and two times in a row European champion and has made history with a new record. Enjoy the party, you fucking baby.

You want to whine some more, send me a PM.

Doesn't change much to the pizzas served cold to ze Hermans. Not much more humiliating than getting strangled to death by the weakest and oldest "big" team (on paper). Germans shouldn't really lend shoulders by now, as for it they need to prove their wunder generation is going to win anything.

On to the topic, I would have to quote myself in the beggining of this thread

If it does not manage to beat Italy, the word will be out, Spain is ripe for a defeat.

On a side note Group B teams once in the 1/4rs have (on paper) easier games than both C and D.
Great killer instinct by Spain, pretty lame set up from the bottom up signor Prandelli. 20 minutes with a wounded man on the field (which causes the goal 1 to happen). 2 changes when Italy could still get back in the game? Hurrying up the tempo?

Anyway, the Italians were toast, the Spaniards played a wonderful and technical counter-attacking football. Then Motta hurts himself and Ite, Missa fuit. A bit hard on the Italians those two 80+ minutes goals but that's the game.

But the most important comes now. NO other squad is ready to fence with the Spaniards. Maybe the Crooks on their good day, maybe them Portugese IF Ronaldo can manage to zero his feet. Other than that, there is not enough quality (starting by the Germans).

Hahaha, I highly doubt it. They have their own weird sport with a ball and goals(?), besides they'll never trade soccer in for fierljeppen...

A few days ago, the Polish police detained a group of Afghanis who are suspected of planning blowing up the National Stadium during Euro 2012. Detailed plans of the National Stadium, as well as explosives, hidden amongst illegal cigarettes, were found on a raft floating on the Bug River, that is a border river between Poland and the Ukraine.
I've always claimed, immigration from wild countries does not work.
