    Damn, really?
Huh... you learn new things everyday.
Still, I wouldn't want to take my chances with it.

I've also heard that drinking bull semen made you strong, like bull. Still wouldn't wanna try it, IMO.
How did it taste. If you say good, I might give it a try sometime.

We call prairie dogs, gophers. 22LR and 17HMR are good calibers. 223 is also fun, but can be costly.

5 bucks for 50 rounds? OMG, im sorry, but that's horrible. My grandfather has picked up a full ammo container with 2000 rounds for $60 USD. I believe AUS currency is a little higher than the USD, but still.

You call that a bargain? Unless those are target loads. Bulk 500+ rounds around here cost anywhere between $20-28.

We usually pick up surplus .223/5.56 ammunition whenever we go out of state. The other year he got an ammo container with about 400 rounds for $100, plus he's got a huge stockpile in the thousands of rounds he's built up over the years.

I don't own any rifles. I occasionally visit local gun clubs where they charge that much so they make a profit since everything else is free (hiring weapons, entry, drinks). In thailand they wanted 1000 baht (30 USD) for ten rounds.

$60-70 AUD will buy about 500 rounds of .22LR (well that's what I generally get it for) .17HMR 50cents a round.

That must be why most people take their own ammo. But hey, it's more of a social thing at that club.

300 Winchester Magnum. Bigger gun=humane kill. You can never have too much gun.

Some good advice here. I think I would go along with what ever your uncle says and probably will provide. Let him teach you. There are many choices and ways to do things, at the beginning have more than one source of information can be confusing. After you get back, that would be a good time to share your experience, what others had tried, and read more on the topic.

Rattfink, actually knew a guy who had 450 win mag, only thing he ever shot with it was a little jack rabbit.

It is called varmint hunting, it is not done for food. PD undermine the ground making it dangerous for cattle, horses and those people riding horses.

Actually with some of the high velocity bullets, it is a mistifying experience. (misspelled for a reason)
