Obama is really keeping the whole industry in business with these rumours. Sales must have been sky-high since he was elected for his first term.
Hard to say when it will be or what it will consist of. Most extreme efforts have been Rep. McArthy's (D-NY) HB1022, which would have effected nearly everything, including 1903 Springfields, Ruger 10-22s, and spare parts. Other rediculous offensives have targeted ammunition, with the goal of banning everything that didn't have serial #s, to include reloading components. Most likely, future legislation would focus on 10+ capacity detachable magazines and rifles/pistols capable of accomodating them.
Past statements by our current President and Attorney General lead most in the shooting community to believe he'll go after guns if elected to a 2nd term. GOP challenger Mitt Romney has been no friend of teh 2nd Amendment in the past, but might offer some hope if he wins in November.
So, we've had plenty of time since the expiration of Bill Clinton's AWB to stock up on hi-cap magazines and get those rifles you've always wanted and are still somewhat-affordable.
I'm trying to have has many magazines as possible.

Better get all the parts for that lower. If they ban parts it won't be worth much.
S&W M&P 15T: 30 PMAGS (most the 30-round type), 5 Lancers, and 5-7 magazines for each of my 7 handguns. And I want to get my hands on a Keltec KSG when they get below a grand. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they were banned just for looking scarey.BTW, anybody else noticing ammo prices creeping back up and availability dropping?
Most of us remember the Fall of 2008/Winter of 2009, when nearly everyone was expecting a ban. It didn't happen, but the hysteria alone made popular calibers, as well as parts and magazines, hard to find and expensive. For financial reasons alone, it's prudent to get what you can while it's available. I'd like to get a couple more mags for the Golani and AKs, as well as my Glock 19.
That is a wise choice. Inflation is a part of it and also our political environment is weird. In the 90's there was a primer shortage for some reason. Could have been industry induced to raise prices. After that, I try to keep enough "makings" on hand to last me 5 years.
I've been living under a ban and a big grey blanket for years. Welcome to California.
I'm drinking beer and talking sh*t on here. I'm also looking at fitness models that my friends constantly post on my timeline on Facebook, and by "fitness models" I mean attention whore strippers that lift weights and enjoy having dudes named Enrique or Mustafa write things like "I would so f*ck that ass hard" over and over and over on their attention whore profiles.
That's what I'm doing.
Better be careful, CJ. They might ban black powder, flint, and ammo molds too!
I figure if Obama doesn't get reelected, then it will be the time to buy.
Enrique or Mustafa? Sounds like a they would be the type to enjoy tours at sausage factories.
Yeah, I want to hurry up and get my finances straight because I want to get my Springfield Arms XD pistol along with a Bushmaster AR-15's and a XCR before they pull some ban out of there ass.
I might buy an extra three 40 round magazines for my Century Arms C93, and possibly another 4-5 cans of 7.62x54R for my Mosin Nagant and Sako M-39, and as much .308 ammo for my FN-49. However, I am conflicted on whether or not I should because I've been saving up to buy a S&W Model 57 .41 Magnum. What to do, what to do?
