A Midland Army recruiter could be discharged after being accused of soliciting *** from a 12-year-old girl.
26-year-old Arnold Gonzales was arrested on Tuesday in Clovis, New Mexico. Police say he used the Internet to solicit *** from what he thought was a 12-year-old girl. But here's the twist, he was never actually talking to an underage girl. It was a Curry County Sheriff's Internet Predator Decoy. According to the complaint, Gonzales replied to an online ad that said "cute, young, if age doesn't matter hit me up."
The two then began exchanging several emails. At one point, Gonzalez asked her to send **** photos of herself in ******ly explicit positions. The complaint says that on Tuesday, Gonzales left Oklahoma where he was stationed on a special assignment. He drove to Clovis, New Mexico in a government vehicle where he planned on having *** with the girl. As soon as Gonzales showed up, he was arrested by sheriff's deputies.
If convicted, Gonzales faces a minimum of 10 years in prison, lifetime of supervised release and will have to register as a *** offender.
