Maybe its the day and age, or Im just part of the oddballs who find their way onto the Internet, or maybe Ive been around 4chan/etc too much, but the first thing I did when opening this was laugh. People will be people. From my understanding, its at the very least a little more common than were led to suspect.
Who's leading you to suspect it wasn't common? Legally, incest is probably way under-reported as a crime as I imagine many would like to keep this issue "in house." I don't think too many informed people would consider it to be that uncommon an issue.
