Maybe I could interest you in a boy band - 17 year old twinks making music for 17 year old twinks?

    RIP MCA.
I'm not that young, although it was my older brother that bought PB, and since he was the "master of hi-fi" (we had only one as kids), i was "forced" to listen to it...Ill Communication was my first own album. Maybe that's also why it is my personal favorite. I think i played it every day after i came from school for several months.

Ha me too, although i wrote there for a short time. This was the forum where i, as an internet-newbie, learned that not everything posted has to be taken as seriously as in real life communication. Lots of confusion back then for me.

Sucks. He helped make some of my favorite music -I could listen to Check Your Head all day every day (and pretty much did just that back in 92'-93') - and he was by all accounts an all around good human being. RIP

That is very sad. One of the very few bands that was there childhood, teens and later and has always been great. timeless.
And it says alot that he didn't go on drugs and alcohol. Cancer takes all the good people.

Check out Paul's Boutique. From start to finish with headphones. I would admonish you to smoke something before listening but I don't think MCA would have wanted that in hindsight. Totally worth it

Too bad, they were starting to put out some good stuff lately.

Here's MCA on bass. Also loved their instrumental albums (In Sounds from Way Out in particular).

Hi ronnieraygun, been on a party yesterday and one of the hosts had the idea of playing a "best of" using his complete collection of Beastie-albums, including PB of course. Great move, lots of fun since nobody was sitting around and grieving, but rocking through the house like pubescent monkeys having a good time. Best method to commemorate him in my opinion.
