Default Assembly bill would ban the open carry of rifles

A year after the Legislature approved a ban on the public display of handguns, the Assembly on Thursday passed a similar prohibition for rifles.

    California, not shocked.

The Second Amendment states: "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

So much for that. One of the reason I left.

Man the Dems/Left certainly destroyed the state with their weird crap. It seemed to be a nice place up until the late 1980s.

Why do Angelinos have to pay for San Frans stupidity.....another new law that is coming is that all rifles/shotguns purchased will be kept on record forever like a handgun, when normally it would drop of the records in 90 days.

    California still rocks though.

The bill has support from gun control groups and law enforcement. The Peace Officers Research Association of California said in a letter of support that open-carry demonstrations place police in potentially dangerous situations.

Portantino said it was only a matter of time before a confrontation between law enforcement and Second Amendment advocates escalates into violence.
I hate the way some police have an us-versus-them mentality.

Portantino actually represents a Southern Cal city. He also authored AB 144.
