Default Thousands of Jordanians call for end of peace with Israel

    http://www.timesofisrael.com/thousan...e-with-israel/

    I
n rallies throughout Jordan on Friday, protesters called for an end to the 1994 peace treaty with Israel and for the expulsion of the Israeli ambassador from Amman.
The demonstrations started after Friday prayers and took place in seven cities across the Hashemite Kingdom, including the capital.
Protesters burned Israeli and American flags, and chanted “death, death to Israel,” and “the people want an end to Wadi Araba (referring to the Israeli-Jordanian peace treaty).”
The protests were organized by the Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood and several youth organizations in response to the recent appointment by King Abdullah II of Fayez Tarawneh as prime minister. Tarawneh briefly served as prime minister in the late 1990s, and he was a key figure in the peace process with Israel.
The prime minister raised the ire of several political and social factions in Jordan recently when he indicated that he would still support the 1994 treaty.

The hell? 1994 peace treaty was the best thing that ever happened to Jordan. Their modern development would not have been possible without it.

It's not a secret that the Jordanians are far from being Zionists...most of them are "Palestinians" ,so you can understand that...

I bet those protesters would be the first in the trenches to take on "teh evil juice".... /sarcasm

Most likely they would be the first to run crying to Mommy UN and beg them to make "teh evil juice" stop kicking their sorry asses. Seriously, this place (Middle East) is so ****ed up. They have the chance to live in peace and prosperity, but all they want is war, suffering and hatred. I hope those retards are only a tiny minority in Jordan

They also don't understand how much we actually help their economy.

The Arab public being shortsighted and acting like a herd of sheep to the sound of demagogic slogans? Who would have thought.

I guess Abdullah is happy as long as they stick to burning Israeli and American flags and not his palace.

Jordan is becoming more democratic...he can't do anything about it. If they're not violent, they can protest all they want...

Lets just hope that the Hashemite can preserve such a status quo.

The 'Arab Spring' certainly won't bring about such a generation.

If they want their already struggling economy to collapse, they can go ahead...

Israeli-Arab and Israeli Jewish buisness men provide hundreds if not thousands of jobs in Jordan. Not only that, most of the foreign investments depends on the treaty.

The only thing that will happen to Israel would be some more cash going for the IDF to maintain larger forces at the Jordanian border.
