ArmA 2 Gathering
A few of us having been talking about getting together to play ArmA 2. One main problem about this is there are hundreds of mods/addons to use and things like that can get complicated when trying to party up. I wrote the quick guide on what addons/mods we need to play with each other. Hope this helps.
Before I get started you need to have the following: ArmA 2 Combined Forces (ArmA 2 merged with ArmA 2: Operation Arrow), BAF expansion, and the PMC expansion. Along with those expansions you need to have all your games updated to the latest patches (do not use beta patches).
For the mods we need, you must install the Six Updater. It’s a handy program that allows you to download mods and keep them up to date.

Once you have Six Updater installed and configured, go to the mods tab and install the following mods:
@ACE
@ACEX
@ACEX_RU
@ACEX_SM
@ACEX_USNAVY
@CBA
@CBA_OA
@CBA_A2
@JSRS
@STHUD
After the mods are installed, go to your ArmA 2 folder and make sure the mods are there. After that, create a shortcut to your desktop of the arma2oa.exe program. Now go to the shortcut, right click it, click properties, and paste this into your target. As you can see we are not using @ACEX_SM. That is ACE 2’s sound mod. Instead, we are using @JSRS, which is a much more realistic sound mod.-noSplash -mod=@CBA_OA;@CBA_A2;@CBA;@ACE;@JSRS;@ACEX;@ACEX_RU;@ACEX_USNavy;@sthud

Sounds good, nice guide for people who dont know how to mod. Have all those mods though, except the non ace ones.. Will install.. Now we just need servers to play on. Any ideas?
Seems like a nice idea man, and might I make a suggestion to play with ACRE if you guys have a teamspeak available for this. Makes the gameplay so much more realistic with the comms.
Also, not sure if you need help with the server or not, but I have a private dedicated server which is purely for personal use based in Los Angeles so feel free to make use of that. Drop me a PM if you need it.
EDIT: Also, You may want to add @CBA_OA and @CBA_A2 as @CBA is dependant on them now. It'll DL it automaticaly through Six updater if you don't have them but yeah, thought I'd point it out

We could play on the clan i am in server though, its not ACE - but it is domination.
Is it TAW by any chance? Personally, and this purely my opinion, not the best place for a couple of lads to come and enjoy. There are other units who have domination servers with ACE enabled and much more mature and team focused players.

You actually don't need to copy and paste anything. Just chose the server you wan't to play on as preset, synch and join with the sixupdater. Argar, me and maybe Toke will start to play in 1/2h. We will gather on the RmK TS server.
Mods installed to arrowhead folder not vanilla arma2 folder, that a problem. Also any server suggestions.
Edit: got it on vanilla now also
