Done both, although bored off with Insanity before finishing it.

P90 is decent, got real lean doing it. They also bring some excellent nutritional advice to the table and (more importantly) how it implement it. Never really got the grasp of the yoga though.

Probably should be posted in the Health/Fitness thread...

Anything that gets you moving and cleans up your diet is a plus in my book as long as you stick with it.

if you can get them for free or have money to burn, sure, any exercise regimen is better than none. But if your tight on cash the $200-300 that your going to spend on p90X would be more than enough to sign up to a proper gym for a year or two and get real one-on-one training.

Both are excellent in my opinion. P90X requires some equipment, Insanity is mostly just YOU sweating your arse off. If you can 'borrow them from your mate' I highly recommend them both.

I've use P90x very good as long as you push yourself. Insanity has been recommend by friends who have used it...breathing out my arse was quoted.

If you have no fitness base, insanity could land your ass in the hospital. All those high intensity moves could snap a ligament if you don't use proper form.

Insanity works as advertised. Never used P90x.

Doesn't it just use your own body weight? I don't recall seeing anything ridiculous in the ad. I always hated these workout programs. Great if you're trying to cut fat and have a decent strength base to begin with. If you sit around at 6% body fat naturally and your own body weight doesn't offer a lot of resistance they suck.

^ it has the potential of being pretty hard on your knees/hips if you don't pay attention to form. Obviously moreso if you're overweight.

Step 1: Stop eating so much.
    Step 2: Lose weight.

That being said my buddy got some amazing results with P90X. As with any exercise regimen, it's only useful if you stick to it.

i just talked to a coworker today who did insanity. Good if you want to loose weight and slim down. bad if your trying to get ripped or build muscle. you end up needing to eat 25 meals a day to make up for all the calories you burn.
