I can't watch it all right now, but the little kid at about 35:00 is fucking amazing. You wonder if after a few years he won't be fighting with the Talibs. He's pretty jaded.

That little kid is actually 20-21 yrs old IIRC. And trust me, he doesn't go on to fight with the Talib.

I believe the little person was executed days or weeks later. Not sure if I read that here or somewhere else.

    Fvck.
These people seemed to have a genuine hate for the Taliban.

    Wow, what a place.
I can't help but feel pity for the people of Afghanistan who just want to live their life and are suffering in this situation.
The losses, and the thought of what will happen to these people in Afghanistan when NATO high-tails it out of there, is revolting to say the least.

I liked that little turd though

it is in the last minutes of the movie.
This is really sad, it is all for nothing if the people don't want to be free (it's like one of the man in the end interviews claim, the taliban are no strangers, they are the taliban), so all in all it is probably a total loss.

The most interesting part was on the Afghan soldiers, are they playing stupid to get less dangerous roles in the mission or are they really that dumb? I'm no soldier, so what I know is only what I've seen, but isn't integrating these Afghan platoons not helping anyone? They hold the Marines back all the time, and in their frustration the marines take it out on them and threat them like dogs, so they aren't really learning anything

The captured mauser? isn't that a P14 enfield?

It's both. The ANA are both dumb, scared, and lazy... I didn't trust them with the simplest of tasks let alone my life.

No. You may have expected to see an Enfield around those parts but there is all kinds of stuff wandering around there.

That little guy is hilarious with his chimpmunk voice. BTW, I thought the keeping of dogs were forbidden under islamic rules, yet we can see a man with a dog at roughly 39 mins.

They don't keep them as pets like we do, but as watchdogs.
