Default Kerry has been hiding from the Press

It has been one month and eight days since Kerry last spoke to a news reporter.

In that timeframe Bush has done a NY Times interview, Time Magazine interview and appeared on the Today show.

Why do you think Kerry is avoiding the press so much?

Here's more info on Kerry's reluctance to speak to the press:

Since early August, the only substantive policy question Mr. Kerry has answered was one lobbed at him by an ABC correspondent about whether he wanted to respond to Vice President **** Cheney's charge that Mr. Kerry wanted to wage a more "sensitive" war on terror.
The strangely funny quote from this article comes from one of Kerry's campaign spokesmen:

"The real question is why George Bush and his campaign are trying to dodge a national debate in front of a town hall of Americans," Mr. Wade said. "It's pretty clear they're afraid to talk about their record."

This from a campaign run entirely on what happened in Vietnam, ignoring his senate record.

Kerry is getting a free pass with the media. They've pass on questions of him obtaining 5 medals in a 4 month period, his 1971 testimony and his senate records. If he'd been a GOP canidate, things would be alot different.

It also helps when no ones questioning CNN's ethics for allowing two Kerry advisers (Carville and Begala) as CNN employees? Doesnt anyone see a conflict of interest here? CNN doesnt even mention the two by name when Kerry's recruitment was reported.

What's really amazing about all of this is how the media is taking a very active role in getting John Kerry elected. They aren't even bothering to hide their bias anymore.

How does the old, tired, retreaded Bush NG service story suddenly, out of the blue, get the Boston Globe, CBS 60 Minutes, the NY Times and the AP to cover it, AGAIN, all on the same day?

Add to that the extended coverage of this issue on all of next Sunday's morning talk shows, coverage on the evening news channels, coverage on cable news, several additional Op-Eds from the Washpost, Times, USA Today and last but not least, the frenzied, frothing-mouthed ranting from the left-leaning blogs!

No collusion between them to be seen! Everyone, run along, nothing to be seen here!!!

What about Republican agent Bob Novak, the man who outed Valerie Plame? See, they're fair and balanced.

I'm not going to argue that CNN doesn't have a Democratic streak though, they most certainly do, but then you have Fox News. Same ****, different channel.

Show me where Novak is actually an advisor on the Bush re-election team. Both Carville and Begala were brought on as Kerry advisors.

What exactly is he hiding? Here's another story about his refusal to talk to the press: http://www.nj.com/newsflash/politics...ylist=politics
"I have a plan that I'm going to have a press conference at least once a month to talk to the nation about what I'm doing because I don't have anything to hide," Kerry said Aug. 3 during a campaign stop in Beloit, Wis.

historically speaking candidates do best to shut up and let the other one take an offensive - unfortunately he started this tactic rather late.

Did you even read the article? Maybe just the headline and the first paragraph. The article informs the reader that he gives many interviews to local reporters and that his plan to have press conferences once a month was to be enacted when he was president.
