I did - homophobes are, by definition, latently homo. SEE: Taliban & Catholic Church. Therefore, all the homophobes in NC voted for banning the right to marry the ***** that you love.

homophobia, like any phobia, is largely based on fear of the unknown. I made a point that most homophobia in 'conservatives' states is based on religious tradition, especially Christian tradition that is blatantly anti-gay, especially in its basic Scriptures. Calling everyone in NC who voted against this marriage bill 'closet homos' is stupid and inaccurate.

When Proposition 8 (the ban on gay marriage) came up for vote here in California, there was a huge media blitz supposedly sponsored by out-of-state money, namely from religious PACS. Everyday there were endless commercials telling us how allowing same s e x weddings was going to destroy the sanctity of marriage and that our 5 year olds would be taught about gay s e x in school if Prop 8 failed. It was an insane sh!tstorm of bigotry and misinformation.
Dont forget Physical assaults on an elderly women who supported Prop 8 and the threats to firebomb businesses who donated, that was all tolerance too, right?

And they lack "Boy Love Thursday's" but the principle is the same, denying the infidel equal rights.

The talking point stating that you must support gay marriage if you're anti-big government (in order to be ideologically consistent) is a pretty common one. I don't think it's particularly valid though.
Because the government has intruded upon our private lives and restricted the privileges of a group/class of people (I don't buy that marriage is a "right"). Why should the government get to define what is, and what is not marriage? Since marriage is a religious institution, they should leave it to the churches. I'm sure there'll be a "church" that will marry gays...I'm pretty sure there's an Episcopalian church in Atlanta with a gay pastor.

So not accepting their practice is the same as running them over with a tank like the taliban did? Disapproval same as Death?

But at the same time, it's entirely undemocratic for a tyranny of the minority to dictate laws.

If 2 gays want to declare themselves married and live together under the same law, taxation rate and other things that a man-woman married couple abides by, what right does the govt have in saying 'no' to this request?

What drives the pushback by 'conservatives' against gay marriage is religion, not any valid concerns for size of govt. Religious bigotry is why gays are denied basic rights that heteros 'enjoy' naturally.
Again... the people making the big government "argument" are liberals, not conservatives.

So, how does not agreeing with something make you scared of it?

We won't know until Christian Conservatives get some T-54's in their inventory so I'm withholding judgement.

You're treading on dangerous waters my friend. If you're not careful you just might find your ass exiled to California, something neither of us want.

I find it "weird" yeah. But that's only because my cousin was butt ass ugly when she was sixteen.
