What larger Picture? you know of his secret death camp plans or something?
Most stuff isn't worth getting worked up over. And sometimes things are just funny - even when you're the one who stepped into it.
It's being blown WAY out of proportion. Getting bullied used to almost be a rite of passage. Is it fun? Nope. It can be a learning experience though.
Well the story took an interesting turn. I know it's The Daily Caller, but the facts are taken straight from the Washpost and ABC articles.

Sorry, if this was a repeated practice (something along the lines of, say, a lothario using his position to earn conquests, or somebody who joined-and stayed a member of-a racist or communist or other subversive organization or part of a habit of persecuting gays) I would be concerned. This is an isolated incident that happened over 45 years ago.
There are associations with some very suspect people that should be concerning the media and the voters a whole bunch more than some over the top prank done by Romney in high school.
I don't know too much of Romney's past, but this Pres is one of the least vetted I can remember.
I think so many were enamored with the idea of a black President that a lot of things were overlooked that a candidate would normally be pounded on for. His "experience" was almost a joke compared to the resumes normally seen in Presidential candidates. His past associations, and by extension, loyalties. . . it boggles the mind that they just got swept under the rug. Like a fart in church, everybody just wanted to pretend it never happened.
You know when I was in the sixth grade I had a Vietnamese (female class mate) I don't know why but I thought she was cute and so I tried to hag around her on the playground one day. She walked up behind me when I wasn't looking and gave me a shove and knocked my little ass right in the dirt. When I got up she looked at me and said call me a chink...I had no idea what that was but I think I must have thought it wrong so I refused. She just kept knocking me down in the dirt and said she'd beat me up if I didn't call her that. I was tired of getting knocked down but I wouldn't hit a girl because that's the way I was raised. Tired of getting my ass whooped I gave in and said: "ok you're a chink"...she yelled bastard and promptly beat the living sh!t out of me. I decided I didn't like the crazy bitch anymore and punched her in the mouth.
-true story
PS: I sincerely hope neither one of us ever get's elected to public office.
School records, past, stories etc should be left untouched.
Seriously how many of us did some really stupid stuff while in school?
I don't particularly like Romney, but his article is just scraping the bottom of the barrel.
I am so sick of this election cycle. Freaking political campaigning starts 2 years before the freaking current president's term is even over.
I know I have said in the past that on the matter of principle I could never accept to live in a country with a monarch as a head of state such as the UK (even if it's symbolic largely). But now I can see the appeal of their system. none of this mickey mouse shit news cycle.
I think we should have each candidate fill out a form stating how many hookers they slept with, how much dope they did, how much they drink, how many gay lovers they have had, how many animals they had *** with, if they like whips and chains, what they favor as foreplay, what kind of food they like, how many times to got wasted at a party and slept with someone...etc ...etc..
Then we could get over with this stuff and move onto real issues.
