    Default C’est Combien?!

Paris named most expensive city for a Club Sandwich, according to the Hotels.com Club Sandwich Index (CSI)

The world’s most romantic city, Paris, has been named the most expensive city in the world to order a Club Sandwich, according to research released today by Hotels.com. The classic chicken, bacon, egg, lettuce and mayo sandwich, available in hotels the world over, has been used as a measure of affordability by the hotel expert. The Club Sandwich Index (CSI) will give holiday-makers an indication of the costs associated with their holiday destination, using one of the most common items on any hotel menu around the world as a barometer.

20 £ a bad sandwich, i'm wondering what kind of hotels they test.

Anyway just go outside and buy a real baguette sandwich in a boulangerie, it will be 4-5 euros max.

Originally it was a BLT and Turkey Sandwich, now it is the same except it is both a turkey and ham sandwich. A triple decked pleasure.

A croque madame (croque-monsieur + fried egg on top) is nice too.

The hell? What kind of sandwich is that? Why would one wish to pay that much for it(and not only in France but in rest of the world too)? It doesnt even look good. You cant get better sandwiches for 1,5€ +/- in every bakery.

    Indeed
    However

20 £ a bad sandwich, i'm wondering what kind of hotels they test.
    gets the point
    That's around 25 euros
For that amount of monney you can eat pretty decently for lunch in several restaurants (no not top notch but still nice little tables)
That's also basically a dinner in most of province cities
And in some area you can even have a glass of (good) wine
So they can keep their over expensives club sandwich

PS : (maybe it is one of those fashion sandwiches with foie gras or lobster or whatnot........)

25€ is about twice the price of your lunch in a brasserie, and around what you will pay for a real meal in a restaurant.

But as the as the french saying says "a tourist that doesn't get stuffed up his arse is not really a tourist"

my stay was marred somewhat by watching 9/11 happen at 12:00 am on CNN.

The rest of the week in France was pretty good, gotta pick up a French comic about Astrix, as well as one about cowboys killing Injuns. Went to Normandy beach to pay my respect. A lot of good memories.

I call bull$hit on *UK* numbers.

The Méridien in Piccadilly Circus charged me a staggering 13,95 pound for a "Tricorne" sandwich (basically a Club) in 2008. And 13 pounds for a sandwich in a 2* in Paris? FMOS. And logically the Méridien in St Julian charged me 16,95 euros for a whole dinner at the KuDéta Lounge last year. Not.
