Yes, they should have bought the Denel G5 with much better range and same rate of fire or the Denel G7 (105) with better range than the 777 and better rate of fire. The G5 is a better gun than the 777 and the only drawback is it's weight. If helicopter insertion is an absolute requirement they would do much better by the G7 (105) from Denel Land systems. This gun out ranges the 777, has the same kill effect as any NATO 155, is lighter and fires a much cheaper round.
It would have been cheaper and it comes with no strings attached!!!!!
