Pentagon condemns 'war on Islam' US training class
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-18032968America's top military officer has condemned a course taught at a US military college that advocated a "total war" against Muslims.
The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen Martin Dempsey, said the course was "totally objectionable" and "against our values".
The voluntary course at the Joint Forces Staff College in Virginia also suggested possible nuclear attacks on holy Muslim cities such as Mecca.
The course has now been suspended.
"It was just totally objectionable, against our values, and it wasn't academically sound," Gen Dempsey said.
He added that he had ordered a full investigation when the course was suspended in April after one of the students objected to the material.
WTF
P.S. Thanks for fixing title.

many think it, very few preach it.
Very embarassing to a democracy I guess....
I get the feeling there is more to this story and the "more" has been deliberately left out. Just a gut feeling but I'll wait and see.
I've burned your flag! No you've burned your own flag.
The Pentagon hopes a full report will be out by the end of the month, the BBC's North America editor Mark Mardell reports.
What does seem rather surprising, he adds, is that all those commanders, captains and colonels must have sat through the course and not felt the need to tell someone that something rather weird was going on.
I have to agree. It seems very odd that no officers have mentioned this before.
Every week these days: Obama administration condemning something in the US military.
The link to the slides (in the BBC article) doesn't seem to be working today, but they're as bad as the article makes them out to be.
Contingency plans any reputable militray has them and studies for all possible threats and their reactions. A threat is a threat, right now Amish arent attacking countries. More embarrssing is deciding to play Political correct and ignore the threat. Whats funny is how many posters here who are horrified have said the Saudis are the real threat.
I don't see anyone horrified by that suggestion, nor is anyone saying that the US should not have contingency plans for likely threats, both current and emerging. Phrases like "total war on Muslims" and "possible nuclear attacks on holy Muslim cities" are rightly questionable though.
Who actually complained about the course ????? Because i suspect this course has been on going for a while and someone felt they were offended and went to the press instead
