I can't seem to run the game. When I get into a server and before I join, it boots me out saying "waiting for DayZ character creation" (or something along those lines). I have tried various fixes to no avail.

I'm officially not playing this mod anymore. I get the urge to yell, "go back to Call of Duty, faggots," every time I see someone new to the series.

    I need a beer.

The game has pretty much turned into Deathmatch or shoot anyone on sight genre. It's part of the reason why I don't play often anymore.

Although if you're playing with a friend or a group of people that you trust, you'll probably get a worthy experience out of it.

This. I am too busy avoiding other people and Zeds when I play by myself... I end up starving to death.

I just want a zombie game like this that's not in arma. The issue for me is not that we have to many zombie games, or to much zombies. It's that there is no good zombie game that has been made, this mod is the closest we have - but when its deathmatch only and you could might as well have removed the zombies and none would notice it becomes a little bad..

I'd like it if the Zs weren't a combination of Olympic Sprinter and NFL Wide Reciever. A little bit slower, and less jooking.

The reason any good game with good intentions fails is because there is unfortunately a whole wide-world of gamers. Not all of them are ****s, but some of them are and it has way more influence on gaming as a whole than anything else ever will. I also blame eastern europe and brazil as a whole for bad gaming.

This might sound selfish, but I am/was glad that BI wasn't mainstream. A small, mature community has been built around BI and the OFP/ArmA series. It seems that has now been pissed away thanks to bandwagon zombie liking fucktards. Every new video BI releases on ArmA 3 is filled with these morons frothing at the mouth and fapping obsessively about wanting to know if DayZ will be in the game. Where were these people one or two months ago when there was no such thing called DayZ? Oh, that's right, they were playing some other zombie POS game. ArmA is a military simulator built around co-op, not open world L4D.

I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade. I just don't want to see an awesome series I love being transformed into something it wasn't originally intended to be.

    ^^
    I concur.

Before the mod was released, not many people in the world have even heard about ARMA II and the one who did turned a blind eye because it was another "boring Military simulator". After the mod was released and thanks to the YouTube videos generating hype, all of the sudden everyone started acknowledging it, but not because of the ARMA II gameplay but mostly for DayZ. Personally, ARMA is turning into a Treyarch's Call of Duty game where people could careless about anything else beside the Co-op Zombies mode.

Normally I don't really have problem with people buying the game just to play the mod, it's just most people who like Zombies gameplay are mostly young, and well, idiots. Having these people around the community is like turning a paradise full of mature people into another MTV Summer House.

Don't worry, they'll get sick of it eventually and leave. Being killed is part of the game though, it makes it unique, because in other games you try to work with people as much as possible. Here, you hate everyone else. Which makes it like a bit more realistic. Who can blame them though, the easiest way to get gear is to kill people obviously. It's just a different kind of satisfaction.

Got killed by COD fools, lost a DMR, M9SD, Coyote backpack, GPS and a car tonight and still managed to have some fun, without whining like a little bitch(no offense meant to any small bitches). DayZ isn't mainstream, mainstream has just gone full retard, treating players like helpless morons, thus making games that provides a challenge more appealing to a broader audience. It's not like DayZ decided to compromize ArmA's gameplay or water it down, au contraire mon frere.

    That is all.
