    Default Best .308 AR?

In your opinion, what is the best .308 AR on the market? I have a fondness for .308 and 30-06 caliber rifles. I'm also more interested in AR type (or other semi-auto rifles that can be chambered for .308) weapons with full length barrels and gas systems, as opposed to the 'tacticool' carbines. So basically, what is the best .308 AR type rifle that resembles an A2, or an A1 even, and has no bells and whistles?

I have a Armalite AR 10, It has served me well. SR25 are suppose to be better quality.

Outside of the AR platform there are some really nice semi-auto .308s out there.

The best is always subjected to opinions and purpose.

I have Oberland Arms OA10 and I like it. The accuracy and quality of workmanship leaves nothing to be desired. If you live in Europe, I would give it an serious thought, but if you live in States I would go with a Armalite AR10. I have shot few and didn't have any problems. Also they are the most common choice in .308 AR type weapon in the market, so the after market parts wont be an hassle. There is plenty of parts and information if and when you start modifying it.

Generally, those made by Knight's Armament and LMT have the best reputations, and the hefty pricetags.

I've already spent too much on other .30 caliber battle rifles.

I shot one a few months ago. Liked it, but not sure I'd pay what they want for one.
