Not to sound like an idiot, but the correct title should have been re-birth. I know it's a common mistake for us too with foreigners designating 1821 as our "birth".
Anyhow the rest is good stuff in the doco, still watching it.

You don't sound like an idiot as you make a very valid point.

good point, but an easily made not terribly bad error. On a side note am reading the book Out of my later years by Einstein in which various "chapters" on various sujects were written in the 1936-1955 years and of course he had strong views on the Jewish struggle in the war and post war years.

Einstein was offered to be the President of Israel in 1952 but turned it down, stating "I am deeply moved by the offer from our State of Israel, and at once saddened and ashamed that I cannot accept it".

I am at a loss at the moment as to where I read it, but supposedly the Jewish experience in WWII disabused Einstein of his pre-war pacifist ideals.

I wonder how Einstein would of handled issues if he was president.

When considering that the role is apolitical and ceremonial I think he would have done alright.

Don't know about the "the most", but he was a Zionist nontheless.

You think Ben Gurion would have offered him the job if that were the case?

Before WWII he was. After WWII, he was not, and became a Zionist.

After reviewing Ben Gurion's journal, who knows exactly what he is thinking.
