    Trying to understand what advantages it presents .. more rounds down-range but the platform is heavier and probably less accurate ...

    More stopping power during CQB, instead of a shotgan, while retaining the accuracy of an assault rifle (I'd guess there is a possibility to switch to a "single rifle" mode). IMHO AFAIK etc.
