    Default "Green on Blue"

Afghanistan conflict: Rise of 'green on blue' deaths

After an increase in killings of foreign troops by Afghan army and police officers, and at a time when Afghanistan is poised to take over security in an area where UK forces operate, how safe are British troops from so-called "green on blue" killings?

There's a lot more mentor's and trainers today.. almost half the Danish force in Helmand are in the mentoring role today. So the chance of Green on Blue is of course bigger now then a year ago.. and it will stay like that till we pull out in 2014. A risk you have to live with..

    Edit: This is important
In addition, both Afghan and Nato troops are undergoing cultural awareness training to "bridge the cultural gap".
Because almost 70% of all Green on Blue incidents is triggered by the Afghans feeling dishonoured in some way.

"How safe are...?" What the heck? It's a war for crying out loud. Given the increasingly large-scale civil war between Taliban elements, why not ask about "green on green?"

That would be "red on red" wouldn't it?
