    ST. LUCIE COUNTY — Rivers Edge Elementary and Southern Oaks Middle schools were placed on lockdown about 1:15 p.m. Thursday after an armed man was seen walking near surrounding woods according to a St. Lucie County Schools spokeswoman.

    I know that Florida is a conceal carry handgun state, but how about long guns?
