Seems like the Poles adapted our "Edelweiß" (Lion´s Foot). Does it even grow in Poland? What unit is that? Nice pics!

That's "Edelweiß" (szarotka), you can find it in Tatry mountains, the unit who uses them as a symbol is Mountain Infantry. Before they used Highlanders crosses but they look's similar to swastika so they are not used official.

Not all Mountain Infantry of the Polish Army. Before II WW we had two Mountain Infantry Divisions - 21st and 22nd. The first one had a name of "Podhale Riflemen", the second one "Huculi Riflemen" (can't translate it in better way). When in 90-ties of the last century two brigades of the Mountain Infantry had been recreated, just like before II WW they had numbers 21st and 22nd and again only one of them conitnued traditions of the "Podhale Riflemen"; second one conitnued tradition of the "Carpathian Riflemen" - famous formation of the Polish Armed Forces, which fought during II WW (first, as a brigade in North Africa, then, after it was reinforced to the size of the Division, in Italy; they were defending Tobruk and won the battle of Monte Cassino). In late 90-ties 22nd "Carpathian Riflemen" Brigade had been reduced to the size of battalion, and eventually merged into the 21 "Podhale Riflemen" Brigade. They used to be twin brigades ones, nowadays remaining elements of one of them are part of another one. So basically right naw every Mountain Infantry units of the Polish Army are wearing the "Edelwaiss" symbol, but it used to be a symbol of just one Brigade.
