Security forces on Monday shot and moderately wounded three foreigners who were trying to illegally cross into Israel from Egypt.
A number of the foreigners fled back across the Egyptian border, some were detained and the injured were given medical assistance.
According to security forces, the foreigners failed to turn back when instructed to and some of them were armed and returned fire when the IDF attempted to arrest them.
Unlike many instances in which such foreigners are of African origin, some of these foreigners were of Chinese origin.

Illegal migrant are never armed, that would be a too great risk for the smugglers (it is easier to beat, rape, abuse unarmed crowd)
If fire was returned, it was certainly that some smugglers were there

'Foriegner' can (and in this case probably does) mean Beduin smuggler though confirming this beyond a shadow of a doubt is a different matter... so take it easy.

It is a myth that the immigrants are forced and beaten to illegaly cross the border. Usually they pay for it and they are relatively well-off people. As for firefights.. it's SOP even here.

As for being a myth. Well, let's say that a couple of Albanian guys have at least the lives of hundred of chinese on their counscience. It is no myth. Especially since most of the time they are sequestred until the very last moment of departure.

An Israeli citizen of Ethiopian origin was assaulted Wednesday evening in Tel Aviv during a demonstration calling for the deportation of African immigrants, just a week following the violent protest in Hatikva neighborhood.
Dozens of protesters gathered on Wednesday near the central bus station in south Tel Aviv demanding the deportation of African migrants from Israel.
The protesters were calling “leftists are traitors” and holding up signs saying “south Tel Aviv, not South Sudan.” The right-winged activist Baruch Marzel said that they hope to hold demonstrations on a daily basis, adding that they will not stay quiet “until the Prime Minister and the Foreign and Interior Ministers will start to act, rather than talk.”
