"Shot people in front of restaurants from a rooftop."
I haven't heard these kind of "sniper" shootings happen in Finland.
Suspected gunman, 18yo male, has been caught.
The victim was 18yo female.
The seriously injured policewoman is 23 years old, from first patrol responding. Got shot as she stepped out from the car.
Speedy recovery to all of the wounded, may the dead victim rest in peace.
I wonder if this was, once again, a jealousy act. At least the shooter and the dead girl are same age.
RIP to the victim. I hope the injured are all OK or will be soon.
One of the seriously wounded has died. 18 year old male. Rest in peace.
The shooter got the rifles he used from "his close circle of friends/associates/family members". I hope that person or those persons will get some serious jail time.
Currently the wounded police officer is said to be fighting for her life.
Three of the wounded were players from a local baseball team.
Any info if the second victim was one of them?
According to MTV3 news, yes, he was a player in the team.
So police says that it's possible there were other people involved in the shooting.
Quick response, it took one minute to patrol to arrive but of course it was Friday night so patrol must have been close by.
Since there's a wounded police officer the case is transferred to National Bureau of Investigation (Keskusrikospoliisi).
May the innocent +Rest In Peace +
Sympathy & Condolences to their family & friends.
Best wishes to the wounded.
Serious piece of kit for the Police a SISU APC.
The SISU is usually on loan from the FDF in cases like this, I think the text piece with 'poliisi' on it is detachable.
Here's Fox news piece about the event:
