Britain's Queen Elizabeth II has invited the Mounties to act as her personal bodyguard. After special training by members of the Household Cavalry riding staff, the Mounties will be performing the centuries' old tradition for real this week. The Sovereign's personal body guard, known today as the Queen's Life Guard, have been guarding the ceremonial entrance to the Royal residence since the 17th Century.

In the run up to the Jubilee, The Queen has invited the Canadian Mounties to act as her personal body guard. On Wednesday 15 men and horses from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police rode down the Mall for the 11 o'clock Changing of the Queen’s Life Guard ceremony with the Household Cavalry.
After special training by members of the Household Cavalry riding staff, the Mounties will be performing the centuries’ old tradition for real on Wednesday and Friday next week.
The Sovereign’s personal body guard, known today as the Queen's Life Guard, have been guarding the ceremonial entrance to the Royal residence since the 17th Century

Reservists from The Princess Louise Fusiliers and soldiers from The New Hampshire Army National Guard climbed to new heights while revisiting the once notorious Devil’s Brigade training grounds for mountain operations training on Exercise TARGHEE SUMMIT.
Over 100 Canadian and US personnel from The Princess Louise Fusiliers, New Hampshire Army National Guard, Land Force Atlantic Area HQ, 36 Canadian Brigade Group HQ, The West Nova Scotia Regiment, The 1st Battalion, The Nova Scotia Highlanders, 33 Field Ambulance (Halifax), Canadian Forces Health Services (Atlantic), 37 Signals Regiment Detachment (Saint John) took part on the exercise held from 26 Apr – 7 May, 2012. The exercise also helped foster camaraderie, boost moral and bridged the gap between Canadian and US soldiers. (Released 25th May 2012)

Seven of the 19 nations participating in Eager Lion 12 took part in the demonstration, a key event during the exercise. Eager Lion 12 is an irregular warfare-themed exercise that includes more than 11,000 participants, focused on missions coalition partners might perform in support of contingency operations. The intent is to strengthen military-to-military relationships and interoperability through a joint, whole-of-government, multinational approach to meet current and future complex national security challenges.
