    KHOWST PROVINCE, Afghanistan- Paratroopers with the 1st Battalion, 501st Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Brigade, Task Force 4-25, patrol a village in the Tani district May 28. The patrol was led start to finish by the Afghan National Army.


    KHOWST PROVINCE, Afghanistan- U.S. Army Spc. Spencer Smith, a native of Auburn, Calif. and a medic with Team Delaware, 1st Battalion, 501st Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Brigade, Task Force 4-25, walks along the road on a patrol in the Tani district May 28. Smith plans on becoming an Army Ranger in the future, after he finishes his deployment.

The patrol was led from start to finish by the Afghan National Army.


    KHOWST PROVINCE, Afghanistan- U.S. Army Spc. Smith performs minor medical treatment as a courtesy to the villagers who have to travel many miles to the nearest medical facility.


    KHOWST PROVINCE, Afghanistan- U.S. Army Spc. Paul Tabor, team leader and a native Jacksonville, N.C., Team Delaware 1st Battalion, 501st Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Brigade, Task Force 4-25, scans his sector of the perimeter May 28. Team Delaware went on an Afghan National Army led patrol of some villages in the Tani District.


    KHOWST PROVINCE, Afghanistan- Staff Sgt. Michael Griffith, a native of Corvallis, Ore. and Spc. Paul Tabor of Jacksonville, N.C. Team Delaware, 1st Battalion, 501st Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Brigade, Task Force 4-25, collect biometric data from a villager in the Tani district May 28. The data is stored in a database, which can be readily accessed.

Charlie Co. will continue to work on their IA drill the rest of this week with their first convoy exercise this week.

Lieutenants from Charlie Co. took notes as they prepared to go through the same exercise this week.

Instructors covered five different IA drills during the exercise.
