Default California strikes again....a move to ban hunting dogs....

So instead of fixing the budget and finding ways of fixing the state....the clowns in Sacto want to ban hunting dogs....

    Sacramento, Calif. —
Hundreds on both sides of the hound hunting debate testified before the state senate’s Natural Resources Committee in Sacramento last week before a bill that would ban the practice was moved forward to the appropriations committee.
The vote was 5-3 to approve the legislation, which would make it illegal to use hounds while hunting bear and bobcats in the state of California.

Aren't the hunters already limited to using rocks and sticks to hunt? Taking away the dogs is outrageous.

Two things come to my mind:
    1 - WTF!?!?
2 - I'm so glad I did not move to California!

We have way to many black bears folks. They are everywhere causing problems. Get those dogs and hunt them down.

I agree cali. does go way over board on gun laws, because come on there's no need to go beyond a simple background check and 18+ age limits. But in the end doesn't really do anything when someone can spend a few grand be have the ability to make firearms undetected granted not very good ones but firearms none the less. Also didn't some gang a few years back get caught with some homemade rifles or something along that line?
But as for the law I kinda don't care much either way, buts that's pretty much because I think using dogs is kinda like cheating. thus I'm biased on the subject.

Title is a bit misleading; the dogs themselves aren't to be banned, but the practice of using them for hunting predatory animals would be. Personally neuitral on the issue about using dogs in that manner.

    However:
“I’ve got to tell you, when it was the hunters time to come into the room... I started crying. I felt it deeply... these are people whom get pleasure from killing God’s creatures.”
I wonder how this dizzy bint reacts when those animals are overpopulated, resulting in a die off (in a slow, protracted, and horrible manner) either through starvation or a disease epidemic caused/exacerbated by an increased pop density & proximity to human food via trash.

If you've ever tried to hunt bear without dogs/bait (like in Oregon) it is very challenging. Bears are territorial with a large area; setting up in a likely spot and waiting for mr bruin to wander by can take many days. And of course you have to keep changing your hide due to scent issues.

Blame hunters again. no doubt. It is a natural way for an animal in the wold to die. It is the way they kill their prey. But, the bullet makes the death faster.
