Default Calling someone 'fatty' could become a hate crime in the UK

A report by the All Party Parliamentary Group on Body Image and the Central YMCA recommended MPs should investigate putting "appearance-based discrimination" on the same legal basis as race and ****** discrimination.

Sweet. Self esteem and trophies for everyone. No work needed.

BTW, is it a crime in the UK to call someone a bad name based on race, *** or religion? Can calling someone a name be a crime, let alone a hate crime?

Technically yes, but you're very very unlikely to be convicted of anything (or even reported, for that matter). If you commit or incite a crime based on prejudice, then you are likely to face a heavier sentence if convicted.

    It's a bit of a grey area.

They say it is the very last minority bias to get rights.....after gays.
I call everyone fatass, even if they aren't, when they are moving slowly. Picked it up from a friend. Guess I'm in trouble.

She said: "If there don't feel overweight, and there are no health indications, what's the problem?"

    1. Fatties aren't the minority: They are taking over.
    2. Donuts don't eat themselves. 90% of the time fat is a choice.
    3. Where is the protection for the scrawny?

If anything they should be ridiculed further so they get some motivation to eat less and exercise.

Type 2 diabetes certainly doesn't discriminate.

So if one is not to use the term 'fatty', would something like 'light weight challenged/impaired' be a PC term?

True. But I suspect such statements will soon be outlawed as racist in the UK. Does that make any sense? No. But very little of this crap does anymore.
