I think that was a good moment. To be honest, I was not quite sure if George wanted to participate. I am glad he did.
Obama gave a very classy speech and W is pretty damned hilarious. Really nice moment actually. It's too bad all political discourse isn't always this gracious. Laura is funny too. It seems like former Presidents are always much more relaxed and human. Go figure.
Regardless of political philosophies it is a very exclusive club and there are very few people that truly know the weight of holding that office.

I donno, seems he has been the doormat to everyone's problem for so long. I figured he might take a pass. Seems GW is bigger than that.
Indeed, all of the above. It seems most former presidents get along quite well. Bubba and Dubya seem to at least. And why not? Who else could possible relate?
My theory is that these guys separate politics from personal. They have to or they would really hate a lot of people. I truly believe that Laura Bush was very helpful to Michelle Obama, and like the Pres said, I think the Bush twins probably clued in the Obama girls about what it's like in that fishbowl. There is an actual human element to this that gets lost. I just thought it was a really nice thing.
Yeah, CJ.
I saw a video where the Obamas discussed how the Bushes were very helpful in letting them know about the White House routine and the expectations that the country would have on them as far as their being the new folks in residence.
I still dislike Carter.
How can anyone dislike Laura Bush? seriously. And the obsessive irrational hate and vilification of W is now being reborn on the other side of the spectrum. THis past weekend I was driving from a local Home depot, some nutjob (maybe 20 years old or so) was holding up posters of Obama with a Hitler mustache, urging people to 'impeach' him. Dumbasses in every spectrum of political ideology.
