Apple and Oranges
or you can beg Mark Zuckerberg or Bill Gates for some revenue. Those guys are billionaire anyway, so $356,000 would be nothing to them.
But it is funny that the bus monitor managed to get a pledge of $500,000 in less than a day just for being bullied, while someone with a plan for a project is way behind on their goal.
Your NOT alone
Its a phenomenon which I can't remember.....it happens a lot in sports.
When a hometown team finally goes to finals, it's fans 3x in size.
until then, only core fans support them from day one
If you didn't play Ghost Recon or Rainbow Six (RSE) or SWAT during the dial-up yrs, it'll be hard press to call yourself core fan.
Hence core fans can call BS on these newer FPS, coz core fans have a point of reference on what a true tactical FPS was,is, and forever will be.

- Ground Branch fills the void between unrealistic run-and-gun action shooters like Call of Duty, Battlefield, Medal of Honor, etc. and complex war simulations like ARMA, VBS, and Operation Flashpoint. It is the only spiritual successor to Ghost Recon (2001), Rainbow Six (1998), SWAT 4 (2005), and UT Infiltration (2004) to date. If this Kickstarter does not reach its goal, we may never see another game of the true squad-based tactical shooter genre... ever again.
- Ground Branch is already a playable pre-alpha running on fully licensed Unreal Engine 3. The Kickstarter goal is the money needed to finish the game and have it on your PC/Mac by summer 2013. There will be full multiplayer (objective-based TvT, PvP) and core single player/co-operation gameplay (e.g. terrorist hunt against bots) from the start. An intricate full-scale SP/Co-Op campaign and advanced AI will be added (for free) after release.
- Unlike big publishers, Blackfoot Studios is an independent developer who actually cares about their product and their fans. The team consists of former Red Storm and Valve employees with dozens of AAA titles under their belt. These guys left well-paid jobs and turned starving indie to do what they love for the people they love. They mean what they say, answer all questions honestly, listen to feedback, and don't push any PR bullsh1t.
These 3 facts alone should be more than sufficient for anyone with a single drop of tac shooter blood in their veins to pledge whatever they can, and there's a plethora of detailed information at the Ground Branch web site to convince anyone still on the fence. BTW - anyone please feel free to copy / use the above verbatim when spreading the word for the Ground Branch Kickstarter in other forums, web site comments sections etc. There's still almost 2 weeks left, so I ask all of you GR diehards to please support this amazing project.

Why not just play Battlefield 3 Hardcore Infantry Only, it feels like the original Ghost Recon somewhat.
I've just played the 16 Players server small map, and it was pretty fun.

Dang these adorable Kitten picture!
Yeah I had Sidestrafe subscribed to my video channel. I'm a fan of his military realism video, plus his gameplay narration is awesome.
These guys could have succeeded but they did sell there product, if I was them i would make every youtube star that like video games say something about my product that way my products name gets out there. Also i go on every game forum and get my product out there to max out my success rate.
It's a similar concept to what I will do if I ever decide to start a project i'm on edge of doing, I will ask for support on forums and from guys on youtube who relate to my project along with groups on facebook and other community sites.
Never focus on getting money but focus on instead getting your name out there, thats vastly more important.
How the Kickstarter Community works may work for you.
Takedown succeeded with their KS, in turn, they helped Ground Branch.
If you ever start a FPS, don't be afraid to reach out. You could help the project out, by your means, and the community will appreciate that. If it succeeds, you will be remembered.
When your time comes around for your KS, you instantly have a community to support you.
If Ground Branch, doesn't succeed in this round of KS, they can reapply. There is no restrictions.
btw, SideStrafe brought a good point:
FIRETEAM EDITION: 4 Digital Copies of the game + 1 Digital Soundtrack. Great to use extra copies as gifts or for LAN parties. And keep the Soundtrack for yourself!
If there are four of you, you guys can buy one of those pre-paid gift card from Amazon, and get your Fireteam edition. That's $15 each!
Unless your in the clearance isle/bin, you'd be hard press to find a game at that price!
So support now, and keep spreading the word out
