    Great vintage find. I wonder how much of it was still relevant in Vietnam.

    Yeah, I was thinking "Damn, this looks too doctrinally correct and methodical to be practical."

    Actually, a lot of that stuff is still in use. If you ever get a chance, watch an AF CCT set up a daylight DZ, and you'll see them putting out marker panels, lights, all sorts of crap. We had an issue on my last deployment, with units not knowing how to set up LZs. One of our convoy's had to stop, and help another unit set up an LZ so one of their guys that got hit by an IED could get MEDEVACed out. Our unit pushed for pathfinder an AA qualified guys to to keep up on their sh*t, and to make sure that we always had several guys per platoon that knew what the hell they were doing.

    Isnt the 3rd PSG in each Light INF company orbat supposed to be Pathfinder Qualified? 1st and 2nd Ranger qual.
